DYSON { REVIEW & GIVEAWAY }

I've seen the commercials for years, I've watched the demos in person, I've ooooh'd and ahhhh'd over them everytime I see them but yet we never took the plunge. Why? Well, I never knew if it was worth it. Did it really work that well? Will it really not lose suction? Does it REALLY suck up microscopic dust that I had no idea was floating around my house? What about the claims to be a "cleaner" vacuum that doesn't emit any sorts of carbon like other vacuums do? I didn't even know other vacuums release carbon, but I guess when the parts and brushes wear down, they emit carbon dust into your home!! So over the years I've actually been adding to the problem?!?

Until I had the chance to review the Dyson DC23 Motorhead Animal canister vacuum {$749.99}, I didn't know how horrible of a job my old vacuum was doing. I mean, I knew it left me frustrated when it kicked dirt back at my feet instead of sucking it up once in a while, but I guess I never really expected anything more from a vacuum? A Dyson raises the bar. Your expectations of a household vacuum suddenly sky rocket because it does {amazing} things that you never knew a vacuum was capable of. Do we ever really expect to get ALL the dirt along the baseboards sucked up? Is it really ever going to be easy to vacuum stairs? With a Dyson, you betcha! I have two chihuahuas. One is a short hair and the other is a long hair. The Dyson was able to pick up plenty of both types of fur which totally impressed me since the short hair's fur is like little eyelashes and my long haired has fur like cat fur. {fine and usually blows around everywhere when the vacuum comes by}. It's so lightweight that my two year old can motor around the house with it! And with the long hose and adjustable handle it's easy and comfortable for every family member to use no matter their height.

When I took into consideration that we buy a $200 vacuum every couple years, I couldn't believe that we could have had a Dyson with a 5 year warranty and lasts for years and years and years more for the same amount that we spent on bad vacuums! Yes, if/when my Dyson kicks the bucket, we'll definitely be replacing it with another one for sure.
